The Climate Film Festival (CFF), New York City’s premier film festival dedicated exclusively to climate-related film and media, is set to make its debut September 20-22, 2024, coinciding with the opening weekend of Climate Week NYC. As the first film festival in New York City dedicated exclusively to climate change, CFF aims to create a platform where diverse voices and perspectives converge to inspire change.
Join us this September for our inaugural festival, with screenings, panels, Q&As, a filmmakers’ welcome event, climate + culture sector mixers, workshops, networking opportunities, industry showcases, and more.

🎨 Arts & Climate Incubator (Due May 5)
The Arts & Climate Incubator is a 5-day intensive for artists, activists, scientists, students, and educators who want to engage or further their engagement with climate change through artistic practices. This year, we are thrilled to offer the program in partnership with the Climate Imaginarium, a consortium of climate arts and storytelling organizations leveraging our collective power to imagine transformative and regenerative futures. All sessions will take place on the Harlem campus of Columbia University in New York City.
🌊 6th Annual Youth Environmental Justice Forum/AquaVision Summit, with John Jay College (May 8)
Join us for an remarkable experience at the 6th Annual Youth Environmental Justice Forum - AquaVision Summit, hosted in partnership with John Jay College! This engaging event revolves around the theme of water equity and conservation, welcoming students from diverse educational backgrounds to tackle environmental justice issues and brainstorm solutions for water challenges in their communities.
🎞️ Redford Center Grants (Due May 10)
Environmental nonfiction feature films or docuseries at any stage of development, production, or postproduction are eligible to apply. Each film awarded will receive a first-year (2024) $25,000 grant to support production and impact campaign expenses, an opportunity to present at an intimate, invitational virtual film showcase with funders and industry leaders, and a trip to an in-person Grantee Summit for project development and advisement.
🐺 2024 Jackson Wild Media Awards (Due May 15)
Media today deepens understanding of the world around us, inspires commitment to protect and restore the natural systems upon which all life depends and empowers the radical changes that will be required to do so. Nature film’s equivalent to the Oscars®, the Jackson Wild Media Awards™ celebrate excellence and innovation in nature, science and conservation storytelling.
🌐 Jackson Wild’s My World Film Grant (Due May 29)
In an effort to contribute to the filmmaker pathways and to develop environmental filmmaking talent, Amberjack Films and Schoolyard Films, in partnership with Jackson Wild, have created a program of funded scholarship films, where early-stage filmmakers are sponsored to make a short 10-20 minute film on a nature or environmental story wherever they come from in the world.
